Centre for Childbirth

I just had a good idea! That's to set up a centre exclusively for would-be mums to give birth to children in comfort, luxury and style! Yea, given that our population growth rate is actually slowly down, and how anxious our government is at getting people to give birth to more children, this idea could be real good.

Most people of the current generation have their reservations about childbirth because they think the costs of raising a kid too high, or maybe are unsure of how to take care of a baby. We live hectic careers, and shudder at the time-intensive care that one has to put in for a newborn baby. A centre to let mums do this, and recover in style and comfort would be nice. Such a centre would be provide a package of services. Right from the moment just prior to birth, to the month or 2 after childbirth, they would have the attention of nurses, gynaecologists(did i spell this right? too lazy to check now), tonic food, watch tv, read magazines, talk to other mums in the same situation, while living in a space meant for relaxation. Meanwhile, there will be seminars, talks(the likes) provided during their stay, to help them and the dads to get acquainted with caring for their newborn.

This project of course, requires quite a capital to start with. You need at least a plot of land to begin with? To build a building dedicated to this. You need to hire cooks and nurses(maybe experienced mums can come and help out initially?), gynaes, doctors. You need equipment, rooms designed for comfort and relaxation. Of course, I'm pretty sure the government would be interested in this, and getting the government to help out would be a great idea too. Starting this up would require me talking to people willing to put in large sums of money, liaising with government for funds, license, and maybe joint collaboration to get people trained specifically in this area of service(instead of casino style). A building will need to be built, initially, starting with a bungalow converted for such a purpose would be easier, rooms need to be designed, equipment brought in, TV and other luxury items brought in, blah blah.

Profitability of this thing would therefore be the calculation of what is the cost of doing this? Fixed start up costs would be high. Day to day service provision, how much is the cost for cooking yummy meals for mums, letting them watch TV, holding talks and lessons, hiring doctors and gynaes alike? Compared to, what is the current cost of giving birth to a baby on your own, in a hospital? Then there will the different packages you can roll out. Like a few mums living in a big room, though less luxurious as a very rich mum living in a smaller, more individualistic room, allow mums in the large room to interact and make friends. Go to talks together. Swap ideas for caring babies.

Working with the government will entail, for example, subsidising directly perhaps, instead of the Baby Bonus. Securing funds from government might be better, eventually leading to management system by privates, but with a little government policies influence.

Oh, this is sucha good idea.. Why hasn't anyone thought of it yet?
