Dreamers

I recently thought about it: scientists and artists are not much different from each other. They are dreamers. But they dream about differenct facets of the world. Artists dream about their surroundings in different perspectives. They capture what they percieve as beautiful on canvases. Scientists dream about their surroundings too, but about why is it like this. It is a dream to find out about their underlying principles, to see the world unified by one big simple principle.

Like all dreams, you can either become famous for it, or you can fail in realising it. For those who become recognised, it is because they were lucky that there were others who recognised the beauty that the dreamer is trying to portray. They become famous overnight. And then suddenly, you see their work everywhere. For those who have failed in trying to realise that dream, that's because they were unlucky. Others have not recognised the beauty of what they are trying to portray.

I think the splitting of the 2, came about the way these subjects are being taught. Science became buried under "Systematic Investigation" where the steps required to carry out an investigations become more machine-like, and more boring. That is why science classes successfully alienate 80% of students every year.

Sigh, in the end, its all a dream.
